What is the price of reality?
Oh yeah, what a band Amen was. Where do I even start? At their shows, you had no where to hide as the band’s vocalist Casey Chaos will find you in sing in your face. I saw them twice, live and both shows I will never ever forget. First time was in 2000 at the Big Day Out in Sydney. The band hit the stage and it was total chaos! Second show was in London at the Islington Academy, 2004, a free and secret show, blood and guts all over the stage. I left thinking, how does any band top that performance?
I met Casey Chaos a couple of times, one time was at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Hollywood, a random chance meeting, he was super cool and told me that the band was making a new album, sounded great to me, but sadly, not much is happening in the Amen department nowadays.
So, I busted out the ‘Waiting 18’ 7” the other day and had a thought or two about if the youth of today are aware of the crushing chaos that was Amen! Check out the videos and find their music as soon as you physically get the chance!!!
